Quick follow-up

As always, thanks for the comments. To follow-up on two of them: Leslie, our RE actually recommended a lady who is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine (who knew?) and who specializes in dealing with fertility issues. Apparently, she's the go-to girl for this practice, so I gave her a call and signed myself up. She sent a 13 (yes, 13) page questionnaire for me to fill out before my first appointment. It is quite um, in-depth. It is safe to say I've never paid this kind of attention to my body before, but I'm glad that she's thorough. Mo, our doctor wasn't thrilled with us doing the oral/Crinone in the first place, but the IVF coordinator went ahead and put me on those meds since DH just can't do the needles. Our progesterone started tanking before we conclusively knew my HCG went down, so that got our RE's attention. Of course, he can't know whether the HCG went down because the progresterone was too low or whether the progesterone started going down in reaction to the HCG beginning to go down -- kind of a chicken or the egg sort of a situation, if that makes sense. So, just to be sure, we're a PIO case next time around.

Hope everyone's having a great Sunday night -- short week this week, hang in there!

Wow...13 pages seems like a lot! But I'm a big fan of alternative medicine--I see an Acupuncturist and used to see a Chinese Herbalist. They were both FANTASTIC! Good luck! Here from ICLW.

Re PIO, there are some videos online showing how to do your own PIO shots.

Sorry for this latest disappointment.

I just stumbled upon your blog. Do you have progesterone issues? I just read your most recent blog...haven't read the back story. I am having major problems in that arena and wanted to know your story. You can check out my most recent post for more info if you like. I have no idea what to do and haven't talked to my RE yet. Any shared experiences will be appreciated!

Hey, Faith-my acupuncturist is also a Doctor of Oriental Medicine! Sounds great! Can't wait to hear how it goes! Keep us posted! Have a great Holiday!

Are you by any chance seeing Dr. Martha I. The 13 page questionnaire sounds familiar! If you are - she is wonderful. I've been seeing her for 3 months now and am hoping it will make a difference on IVF #2. If its not her, I see a Doctor of Chinese Medicine who is also a Fellow on the Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine and she really knows her stuff and my group of doctors highly recommends her so . . . at least you aren't alone in being sent to one! If any of that even makes sense!

Sweetie, I'm sorry to hear about the hard news, but glad there were so many good things about the apt too! Can you have a friend do PIO shots? I have a nurse friend that I've considered calling, but hubby is fine doing them...

Best of luck with the acupuncturist. I had some issues with progesterone that partially led to my multiple miscarriages. I had to start progesterone suppositories at 3 dpo.

Hope you have a wonderful cycle next time around.

I'm so sorry for your loss and wish you lots of luck next cycle.

But thanks for sharing this. It makes me feel better about choosing PIO even though I'm terrified of the needles.

Those injections might seem scary, but they aren't too too bad! I was absolutely terrified of them, but a good ice pack before-hand and you don't even feel it. I also had a friend from church who has a nursing background who offered to come each night to give them to me. Maybe you can find someone that can help you.

I'm praying for you big time!
